TeachinG
After studying education at Belmont, I have the knowledge and experience that it takes to run a classroom. I have experience assisting and running classrooms, teaching masterclasses, and being an active role in the education of youth. My goal for every classroom I am a part of is to create a safe space in which students feel comfortable taking risks, asking questions, and allowing themselves to fail. I do everything I can to keep classes high energy, fun, and valuable to each student’s growth in their performance journey.
Theatre
I have been a theatre educator for the last 5 years at different companies. Most recently, I have worked with Missoula Children’s Theatre. Every week I would run rehearsals and workshops, putting up an entire show in just one week! During the summers of 2022 and 2023, I taught at Kentucky Shakespeare. During that time, I had the opportunity to work with and plan lessons for students 4-6 and 10-12. In 2021-2022, I was the education intern at Nashville Children’s Theatre. I designed lobby activities for Pre-K and kindergarten students and assisted Saturday classes for 4-5 year olds, 8-10 year olds, and 13-16 year olds. Every past experience I have had has set me up for success wherever my path leads me!
Voice
As a singer trained in musical theatre and classical singing, I have helped coach students through finding their voice. I have taught voice lessons through Innovation Arts Academy where I coached students for auditions and recitals, and helped them train their vocal technique. I was also the primary voice major instructor for Boyle County Arts Academy, giving private voice lessons for all vocal majors from 6-12th grade. My position at Missoula Children’s Theatre also provided the opportunity to teach voice to students across the country. I help coach students through making smart and sustainable decisions to produce the most clear, easy, and repeatable sound they can.
Dance
I have taught dance for musical theatre class at Innovation Arts Academy for advanced elementary, middle, and high school. I also have experience choreographing and teaching tap dance for every level. In addition to teaching tap classes, I have choreographed selections from Newsies, an hour long senior show, and have taught the choreography to Missoula Children’s Theatre’s Sleeping Beauty.
